Stormcarver

This piece is finished, with the exception of a coat of sealant, which won’t affect the appearance of the stone.

This is a fairly simple piece, but I like the flow and contours. Also, the stone itself is interesting in its striations of opacity and translucency. These striations also made the carving process more challenging because of the difference in hardness and consistency between them.

Form Carving, Complete All images are the physical and intellectual property of Barbara Minnick, aka Stormcarver. Unauthorized use prohibited. The final result is 7cm x 3.23cm x 1cm, which again, made this more of a challenge to carve. I am happy with the end result.

One thing that occurred to me while I was working on this was...notice how quickly this was done. In comparison, how much more complex are the flowers I have been doing lately?

I have an idea for the next project, and will be working on sketches in the next couple days. Archive Main -> <- Previous
