Had a migraine half of yesterday, and still don’t feel quite right, so didn’t get a lot accomplished. I did get the tops carved down a bit and start on the general body shapes. The interior and exterior of these pieces are very dependent upon each other, and am trying to work them accordingly: work down the inside a bit, then match it to the outside. The stone itself, when cut/carved appears milky, but with handling, spots appear that are almost clear. It’s been interesting to contemplate what the final work will look like.

Mini-Callas, cont’d. All images are the physical and intellectual property of Barbara Minnick, aka Stormcarver. Unauthorized use prohibited. Am going to continue to work these two together, probably a step apart. That way, I can keep from putting too much pressure on my joints in any one way. As I said, still feel “off” today. Am going to try to work on these a bit later, though. Really want to see how this stone finishes.
