J and I just got back from Summerville’s Sculpture in the South event. All I can say is WOW! There were 30 artists showing their bronze, stone, wood, and clay work and it was just amazing!

There were a couple artists I was particularly impressed by, they were present and very willing to discuss their work and techniques. Wahoo!

Below are links to every artist from whom I could pick up a business card and appears on the web:http://www.sculptureinthesouth.com/shapeimage_2_link_0

After seeing all this amazing work, and having been invited to apply to show at this event next year, I have a lot to think about. I need to do some larger pieces and diversify a bit. Lately, though, with the location change, the difference in weather has been playing hell with my joints and I have carved little, to which this site attests. I am going to have to explore some different techniques, and possibly some new materials in order to keep doing what I do. I will post tomorrow or Monday regarding some of what I have been doing lately, very slowly though it may be.

Enjoy the above links. I know it’s not as good as getting to touch them in person, but it’s some fantastic art nonethless! All images are the physical and intellectual property of Barbara Minnick, aka Stormcarver. Unauthorized use prohibited.
